Website design for small business

A website that answers what customers ask before they call.

Web App Launch is a Melbourne web design studio. We design, build, host and maintain websites for small businesses: shops and makers, gyms and studios, trades and home services, and professional practices.

Most people look a business up before they make contact. They want to know what you do, whether you cover their area, roughly what it costs and how to reach you. A good small business website answers those questions on the first screen they land on, on a phone.

Custom small business websites

A website designed for your business from the start, with a page for each thing you sell, clear prices or a way to ask for one, and photos of your own work. A customer can see what you do and contact you in a few taps.

  • A page for each main product or service
  • Contact forms, maps and galleries
  • Written for the searches your customers make
  • Tested on phones, tablets and desktops

Website redesigns

A rebuild for a site that is slow, dated or hard to use on a phone, keeping the content that still works.

Booking and enquiry forms

Forms that ask for the details you need, so the first conversation is about the job, not the basics.

Product catalogues

Your range set out by category, with photos, specifications and an easy way to ask about any item.

Quote calculators

An instant estimate from a few measurements or options, worked out from your own pricing rules.

Hosting and maintenance

Managed hosting, security updates, backups and a direct line for the changes you want after launch.

Packages and pricing

Every website priced from a written scope.

Many small business website packages are a fixed bundle: five pages, one form, a set price. Two businesses with five pages can need very different things, so we price each site from a written scope. It covers everything a package would, and you add bookings, a catalogue or a calculator only if they earn their place.

How much does a small business website cost?

Small business websites start from$199per month

No upfront costs

Your itemised quote shows the pages, features, timeline, hosting and ongoing support before work starts. Optional features are priced separately, so the first version can stay focused on what brings in work.

In every quote

  • Custom design for your business
  • The pages your scope lists, built and filled
  • Contact and enquiry forms
  • Testing on phone, tablet and desktop widths
  • Technical SEO and launch
  • Hosting, maintenance and support

Websites for small businesses of every kind.

A shop needs its range found and understood. A gym needs a trial booked. A plumber needs the phone to ring today. The same five-page layout serves none of them well.

So each site starts with how your customers find you and decide: what they search for, what they compare and what they need to see before they get in touch. The pages, photos and forms follow from that.

  1. Shops and makers

Your range by category, with photos, prices or a way to ask, and the details buyers check first: delivery, pick-up and returns.

  2. Gyms, studios and wellness

Classes, timetables and memberships set out clearly, with a trial or booking form that asks for what you need.

  3. Trades and home services

A page for each job you want more of, the suburbs you cover, photos of finished work and a phone number one tap away.

  4. Cafes, venues and caterers

Menus, opening hours and function packages that are easy to read on a phone, with enquiries that come straight to you.

  5. Professional services

What you do and who you do it for, explained plainly, with your credentials and an easy way to book a first conversation.

Getting found

Built to be found by customers already looking.

Most new customers start with a search, wherever they happen to ask. The answer goes to the business whose website says most clearly what it does and where. That is why each main service or range gets its own page, in the words your customers use, with your area stated where it matters.

When they land, the next step is one tap away, so a search can become a call or an enquiry. Every site goes live with that groundwork done. Ongoing search work is a low-cost add-on to your plan. Nobody can promise where you will appear.

  • A page for each main service or product range
  • Headings and copy in the words your customers search
  • Descriptive page titles and meta descriptions
  • Structured data for your business and your questions
  • A working sitemap and crawlable internal links
  • Fast pages that hold up on mobile data
  • A clear way to get in touch from every page

Still deciding what you need?

Ask us directly
How much does a small business website cost?

Small business websites start from $199 per month. The final price depends on the pages, content and features you need. A site with bookings, a catalogue or a custom quote tool costs more than a straightforward service website. We send an itemised quote with the timeline and ongoing fees before work starts.

How long does a website take?

One to two weeks is the usual range for a straightforward website once the scope is approved and the content is ready. Custom tools and larger catalogues take longer. Your quote includes a written timeline before anything starts.

Do you sell small business website packages?

Not fixed packages. Every site starts from a written scope, so you pay for the pages and features your business uses. The quote lists the same core work a package would: design, the pages, forms, mobile testing, search groundwork, launch, hosting and maintenance.

What is included in a custom website?

The written scope lists the pages, design, development, forms, responsive testing, technical SEO and launch work included in your project. Hosting, maintenance and any optional features are also shown clearly so you can see the full cost.

Do you handle hosting and the domain?

Yes. We set up hosting, connect your domain, and handle deployment so the site is live and looked after.

Will my website be mobile-friendly and SEO-ready?

Yes. Every build is tested across phone, tablet and desktop widths, and the search groundwork is included: clean headings, descriptive titles and meta descriptions, structured data where it applies, a working sitemap and fast pages. Working on your rankings after launch is a separate add-on, priced low enough that we recommend it on every website.

Can you redesign the website I already have?

Yes. If your current site is slow, dated or hard to use on a phone, we rebuild it. We keep what still works, such as your content and the page addresses Google already knows, and replace the rest.

Can you add online booking or a quote calculator?

Yes. We build booking and enquiry flows, product catalogues, quote calculators and other custom web tools. The feature is scoped around the way your business works, then priced separately in the quote.

Who owns the website, domain and content?

The content is yours. The domain is usually registered so it can transfer to you, though that depends on what we agree. We build, host and maintain the site for an ongoing fee, and the code stays with us. Ask before you sign if you want it set up differently.

Do you only build websites for Melbourne businesses?

No. We are based in Melbourne and can meet locally when it helps. Most projects run through calls, email and a staging link, so we build websites for small businesses across Australia.
